Happy Thursday! I'm coming to you from Savannah, GA, where I just spent a few nights enjoying the best of Georgia, including southern food and some crazy hot days. Today, let’s talk about why signing up for free loyalty programs is worth it — even if you don’t travel all the time. Many airlines, hotels, and rental car companies have free loyalty programs. These are simple to join and can offer good value over time. I sign up for as many as I can, and it’s paid off in ways I didn’t expect. Even if you only fly with a certain airline once in a while, it’s still worth joining their program. For example, I rarely fly with American Airlines, but as a free member, I get early boarding. That’s a nice perk without doing anything extra. Also, miles and points add up — even in small amounts. I don’t have a big stash of American Airlines miles, but last year I was able to take advantage of a sale and fly home from Portland, Oregon using just 5,000 miles and paying $5.60 in taxes. That was only possible because I had been collecting small amounts of miles in my free account from a few past flights. The same goes for hotels and rental cars. Many hotel chains give you things like free Wi-Fi, late checkout, or access to better rates just for being a loyalty member. Rental car programs might let you skip the line or get upgrades, even without elite status. It takes just a few minutes to create an account, and over time, the perks and savings can add up. If you haven’t already, start signing up for the programs tied to your bookings — it’s a simple step that can make a big difference later. As always, you can follow along with my current travels on Instagram and Facebook, or reply to this email if you want to chat! Have a great weekend :) Sarah Some links in this email are affiliate links, meaning I may earn a commission if you click the link or make a purchase through the link. This is at no extra cost to you. Should you get it, and if so, which one? YES, you should have travel insurance, as you never know when things may go wrong. SafetyWing is my go-to for travel insurance because it covers so much, is easy to purchase for days or months, and is affordable. Many credit cards also include travel insurance. Personally, I get SafetyWing on top of my credit card insurance. Learn more about SafetyWing and the benefits of using them in my blog post about travel insurance. |

Happy Thursday! Hello from Malaysia! I'm here doing some solo travel before a group trip in Thailand... two of my favorite countries in Southeast Asia :) This is my longest solo trip in a while, and it got me thinking about safety when you travel. I feel fully safe traveling on my own, but a lot of that is because I know how to prepare, what to look out for, and I always trust my gut. Traveling is exciting, but it’s important to stay alert and prepared no matter where you go. Whether you’re...
Happy Thursday! I'm back from my trip to Iceland and Germany and it was SO MUCH FUN! Two very different places but I love them both. First up was Iceland - the land of fire and ice. Iceland looks amazing in pictures, but they don't do it justice to just how beautiful the country is. Every day had something new, and I'm so glad I did the Ring Road instead of staying near Reykjavik the whole time. If you want to see what I got up to every day, check out all my Iceland YouTube videos. I also...
Happy Thursday! The Christmas markets completely transform cities into festive, glowing destinations filled with lights, music, and seasonal food. These are some of my favorite Christmas markets in Europe, and I’ve written detailed guides to help you plan a trip:...
