Happy Thursday! I hope everyone is enjoying fall (or spring, depending on where you are in the world). While it may seem early to think about it, I wanted to talk about Christmas! Christmas is my favorite holiday, and one of my favorite things to do during the holiday season is go to Christmas markets. Christmas markets originated in Europe in the 13th century in the German-speaking region (likely Germany or Austria). They are still a beloved holiday tradition today, and you can find them all over Europe and even in many cities in the US. No matter where in the world you are this holiday season, I highly recommend trying to find a Christmas market near you. You can enjoy classic foods and drinks, do some holiday shopping, and get into the holiday spirit. If you want to get a little crazier, head to Europe to visit some of the world's best and oldest Christmas markets. I traveled to nine European cities in 2022 and visited a few dozen Christmas markets, and it is still one of my favorite trips to this day. Here are the blog posts I have written about Christmas markets in Europe, which include my favorite cities and the most festive Christmas markets:
Let me know if you have any questions about these markets or need other suggestions about places to go to in Europe to see them this December. You can reply to this email if you want to chat! Have a great weekend :) Sarah Some links in this email are affiliate links, meaning I may earn a commission if you click the link or make a purchase through the link. This is at no extra cost to you. Should you get it, and if so, which one? You should have travel insurance, as you never know when things may go wrong. SafetyWing is my go-to for travel insurance because it covers so much, is easy to purchase for days or months, and is affordable. Many credit cards also include travel insurance. I get SafetyWing on top of my credit card insurance. Learn more about SafetyWing and the benefits of using them in my blog post about travel insurance. |

Happy Thursday... and HELLOOOOOOOOOO 2025!! Yep, we're starting this year off with a bang. I'm not sure what it is, but I have a really good feeling about this year. To kick us off, I wanted to share some upcoming updates in the travel world in the next few months, including one that went into effect yesterday for people traveling to the UK. ETA for UK travel: As of yesterday (Jan 8, 2025), travelers from over 40 countries now need to apply for an electronic travel authorization (ETA) to...
Happy Thursday! I wanted to take this time, and this last newsletter of 2024, to reflect on the year. I took some wonderful trips, including: New Year's in Costa Rica A last-minute trip to Amsterdam (which was also my first time flying business class!) A trip with good travel friends to Turkey A girl's trip with college friends in Europe Three travel conferences around the US (Utah, Portland OR, and Puerto Rico!) Plus, quite a few trips around the US to catch baseball games (Arizona, Miami,...
Happy Thursday! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, if you are in the US, and everyone is having a good December so far! As always, I'm glad the Black Friday emails have slowed down and the crazy shopping days are over. I do all my shopping online to avoid the crowds, and my Christmas shopping has been done for over a week now! I'm excited to be able to take this month to enjoy time with friends and family instead of trying to shop and think of last-minute gift ideas. I also spent my few...
