My latest travel favs ❤️

Happy Thursday!

I'm home in Chicago for one more week before a mini trip, and I'll be honest: I'm stumped on what to write!

I was going to tell you all about the new Entry-Exit System (EES) being implemented at borders in the European Union for non-EU travelers, but the start date has been pushed back (again!).

I'll send you all the details you need to know once a new date is set, but if you want to learn more now, you can read more about the delay or learn about the EES on the EU website.

Until then, let me highlight some of my favorite travel planning resources. I'm in the midst of planning a few big trips, and I'm spending a TON of time on these sites looking for places to stay, things to do, European train tickets, and more.

  • Viator - Viator is my go-to site for booking activities when I travel, both in the US and internationally. They have many tours, and the app makes communicating with tour companies and customer service easy.
  • Booking.com - Booking.com is great for booking hotels, hostels, and home rentals all over the world. I love how easy they make it to see what amenities a hotel offers and what types of rooms are available.
  • HostelWorld - HostelWorld is my go-to site for booking hostels. It's easy for me to see the top-rated hostels worldwide and filter for the type of room I want. And they have an app where you can connect with other travelers staying at the same hostel or in the same city as you.
  • Rail Europe - Rail Europe is a leading provider of train travel and tickets for European destinations. I like all the options they offer for rail passes and point-to-point tickets, so you can easily explore Europe by train.

You can also always shop my travel essentials.

As always, you can follow along with my current travels on Instagram and Facebook or reply to this email if you want to chat!

Have a great weekend :)

Sarah

Travel Insurance

One of the things I get asked about the most is travel insurance. Should you get it, and if so, which one?

You should have travel insurance, as you never know when things may go wrong. SafetyWing is my go-to for travel insurance because it covers so much, is easy to purchase for days or months, and is affordable.

Many credit cards also include travel insurance. I get SafetyWing on top of my credit card insurance.

Learn more about SafetyWing and the benefits of using them in my blog post about travel insurance.

Happy Thursday... and HELLOOOOOOOOOO 2025!! Yep, we're starting this year off with a bang. I'm not sure what it is, but I have a really good feeling about this year. To kick us off, I wanted to share some upcoming updates in the travel world in the next few months, including one that went into effect yesterday for people traveling to the UK. ETA for UK travel: As of yesterday (Jan 8, 2025), travelers from over 40 countries now need to apply for an electronic travel authorization (ETA) to...

Happy Thursday! I wanted to take this time, and this last newsletter of 2024, to reflect on the year. I took some wonderful trips, including: New Year's in Costa Rica A last-minute trip to Amsterdam (which was also my first time flying business class!) A trip with good travel friends to Turkey A girl's trip with college friends in Europe Three travel conferences around the US (Utah, Portland OR, and Puerto Rico!) Plus, quite a few trips around the US to catch baseball games (Arizona, Miami,...

Happy Thursday! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, if you are in the US, and everyone is having a good December so far! As always, I'm glad the Black Friday emails have slowed down and the crazy shopping days are over. I do all my shopping online to avoid the crowds, and my Christmas shopping has been done for over a week now! I'm excited to be able to take this month to enjoy time with friends and family instead of trying to shop and think of last-minute gift ideas. I also spent my few...
